Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a teenage girl was slapped in the face by a woman.
The incident happened at about 8.45am on Wednesday, March 8 in Main Road in Kesgrave, near Kesgrave High School.
Suffolk police said the teenager was walking alone when an unknown woman, who was reportedly shouting and swearing, approached her.
The woman then slapped the girl in the face before walking off in the direction of St Olaves Road.
The girl suffered swelling and was left distressed after the incident.
Police said the suspect is described as white, about 5ft 7ins tall and of average build.
She had shoulder-length hair that is described as dark bleach in colour, with grey highlights.
She was wearing a short high-vis jacket, black leggings and grey trainers with geometric shapes.
Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
