A huge pothole that is so deep you can stick your foot down it has appeared in a car park near Ipswich town centre.

The gaping hole has recently been discovered in the Ipswich Borough Council car park in Portman Road, behind the AXA building.

It can be found near the fence and has been covered by a cone to prevent drivers from going over it.

The hole is about 30cm deep.

Responding to a comment about the hole on Twitter, Ipswich Borough Council said the issue would be "repaired as part of ongoing repairs at the car park".

The council has been contacted for comment regarding the timescale of the repairs.
