Ipswich is about to get a taste of Texas, as the town will soon be featured on the big screen in a US production.

Movie fans will be able to see Ipswich Waterfront, Ipswich Town Football Club and Endeavour House in a movie called One Ranger.

Endeavour House was used over numerous weekends, while other filming locations included Russell Road and other streets around Ipswich, and Shamrock Pub.

It tells the story of a Texas Ranger as he is recruited by British Intelligence to track down a dangerous terrorist and stop him from attacking London.

The movie’s cast includes multiple award-winner John Malkovich, who was part of the cast that filmed in Suffolk in February and March last year.

Other cast members include Thomas Jane, Dominique Tipper and Dean Jagger.

The action thriller will be released on May 5 to selected cinemas, with a physical media release shortly after on June 13, with Ipswich "popping up regularly throughout the film."

A spokesman for Screen Suffolk said: "We're delighted that the film has decided to shoot in Suffolk and that Screen Suffolk can bring this kind of project to Ipswich with the massive economic benefits this will bring."

Film crews for a number of TV shows and movies – including The Grand Tour, The Power and Magpie Murders – visited Suffolk last year to record scenes.

Lucinda Rhodes Thakrar, a producer at Picture Perfect Ltd, who is one of the production companies behind the film, said: "We actually shoot a lot of movies in Ipswich and other areas in and around Suffolk.

"It's friendly and stunning and all the cast and crew enjoy coming to Suffolk and away from built up areas."
