Ipswich Regent Theatre looks set for a special evening when it receives a visit from football manager Neil Warnock.

Warnock is performing his show 'Are You With Me?' on Friday, September 1, talking about memories and whacky stories from his time as a football boss.

During an exclusive chat with us, Warnock revealed that he almost became Ipswich Town manager and was "gutted" that he never got the chance to manage the Tractor Boys.

His show features more chats about his relationship with Town fans, and some of the moments he has had on the sidelines at Portman Road.

Warnock is also raising money through his show for the Kevin Beattie Foundation, which is helping to sell tickets and promote the show.

Warnock said: "Kevin Beattie was a manager's dream. You'd want him on your teamsheet straightaway.

"My kind of player when I saw that you've got to die for three points.

"Beattie was like that and it is a great cause the foundation."

Malcolm Thompson, founder of the Kevin Beattie Foundation, said: "We've been holding shows with former Town players for the last couple of years.

"Neil's agent came to us and said he has a rapport with the fans and wanted to do a show.

"They wanted us to get involved and help sell tickets, and I was chuffed and over the moon when they get in touch with us.

"The fact that someone has come from outside of Ipswich and wanted to get involved is a testament to what Beattie did.

"You don't get bigger than Neil Warnock in terms of popularity so I was shocked when they contacted and very honoured.

"It'll be a good night, I am very excited for it."

Warnock's show Are You With Me? is at the Regent Theatre in Ipswich on September 1, and tickets can be found here.
