Nearly 250 unsafe products have been seized at the Port of Felixstowe.
Suffolk Trading Standards detained a consignment of the 248 products at the port and sent samples away for testing.
The consignment contained 148 power adaptors and 100 hairdryers.
All products were found to be unsafe, according to Suffolk Trading Standards.
The listings for the products were then removed from eBay and the goods are set to be destroyed.
The power adaptors reportedly posed a risk of electric shock and were fitted with a counterfeit plug.
Additionally, the hairdryers also carried the same risk and counterfeit plug.
In the hairdryers, the plug had been connected with the incorrect polarity.
All products failed to meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment regulations 2016.
Following this seizure, Suffolk Trading Standards is warning anyone who thinks they have purchased a product that may be unsafe to stop using it immediately.
Such products can be reported to Trading Standards via Citizens Advice Consumer Service on 0808 223 1133.
