A primary school in Ipswich is celebrating after being recognised with a national award for its commitment to excellence in art teaching and learning.

Gusford Primary School has been awarded the Artsmark Silver Award, the only creative quality standard for school and education settings, accredited by Arts Council England.

Artsmark ensures that every young person can be creative and access a diverse, high-quality cultural education.

The award recognises schools for pitting the arts, culture and creativity at the heart of their curriculum and is high praise for the Ipswich-based school.
