Creative and delicious dishes from more than 20 nationalities captivated judges and festival goers at one of Ipswich's most popular food festivals.

The Global Food and Pita Festival returned for its 11th year with more than 1,000 people attending.

This year's festival expanded to showcase the best of the town's many cultures with dishes from Kurdistan, Egypt, Bangladesh, India and China among the offering.

"It was just pita and we now have world food. It's important people can explore their culture, represent their culture and showcase their food.

"This event is getting bigger and bigger every year."
