More than 300 gymnasts from around the county took part in the first-ever regional competition, with the Ipswich branch impressing just eight months after opening.

The athletes took part in the East Anglian Gymnastics regional championships, representing six clubs around the area.

These included Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Ipswich, Leiston, Thetford and Chelmsford.

The Ipswich branch has only been open for eight months – despite this, they finished second in five of the events.

Coaches from each club actively participated in different competitions as well as the children, in an attempt to deepen the bond and camaraderie between the coaches and gymnasts.
