A father and son have been fined over £3,000 after they were caught fly-tipping mattresses and a dismantled sofa.
Costica and Mihai Stefan, of Surrey Road in Ipswich, appeared at Suffolk Magistrates' Court last Monday after they were caught illegally dumping items in the town on May 1 last year.
The pair pleaded guilty to the offences, which included fly-tipping two mattresses, two television stands, a dismantled sofa and a number of other items.
They were fined a total of £3,216.90 for the incident.
John Cook, Ipswich Borough Council portfolio holder for communities and sport, said: "Please dispose of waste responsibly as Ipswich Borough Council will prosecute individuals for the illegal dumping of waste in our town.”
