Work to transform and refurbish a children's play area in a Felixstowe park is soon to get under way.

East Suffolk Council has partnered with Felixstowe Town Council to refurbish the play area at Langer Park.

The park, with the design influenced by pupils at Langer Primary Academy, will be suitable for toddlers and juniors.

It will feature a zipline, basket swing, cradle swings, slides, sensory play panels and multi-play units.

There will also be sculptures installed as part of the Lost Creek Trail, created by Graeme Mitcheson with children at the academy.

Councillor Katie Graham, East Suffolk Council's cabinet member for communities, leisure and tourism, said: "This work will transform the play area into an attractive, fun and modern facility and allow families to enjoy the park even more.

"The refurbishment of the play area is part of a wider programme of improvements to Langer Park, creating a welcoming and relaxing space for everyone to enjoy."

Work still to be done on the park includes replacing outdated signage, installing information boards, clearing overgrown areas and reinstating the toilet block.
