Residents from a Suffolk care home joined forces with the local community during a litter pick at Woolverstone Marina to ensure the riverside looks its best for summer.
Staff and residents from Spring Lodge Care Home, as well as children from Shotley Kidzone Pre-School, took part in the "litter treasure hunt" and helped keep the Suffolk shoreline clean.
The home’s activities coordinator, Vanessa Loose, said that the event was a "massive success".
She added: "We collected so much more litter than we expected, and we had some wonderful helpers.
"It was so lovely to have everyone come together. A big shout-out to Shane Cheshire, the marina manager, for providing us with the litter-picking equipment and making the event possible.
"We had a great time in the marquee, keeping cool with ice lollies, snacks and cold drinks.
"Everyone who took part got rewarded with a Woolverstone Marina teddy, which was a lovely touch."
The home manager, Sinead Lambert, added: "We are fortunate to live and work in a stunningly beautiful part of Suffolk and it is important that people are taught to be litter conscious at the youngest age possible."
