A 67-year-old Martlesham Heath man who sent pornographic videos and discussed sex with a decoy posing as two schoolgirls has been jailed for three years and four months.

Martin Rollings, who was jailed for child sex offences in 1990, asked one of the fictitious girls aged 13 to send him pictures of her breasts and asked the other girl, aged 14, to touch herself sexually.

Rollings of Roma Avenue, Martlesham Heath admitted two offences of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity, two offences of attempted sexual communication with a child, two offences of causing a child to watch a sexual act and two breaches of a sexual harm prevention order.

In addition to being jailed he was made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order indefinitely and ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for the same period.

The court heard that Rollings was jailed for four years in 1991 for indecently assaulting two girls and a boy.

He was also given a suspended prison sentence in 2020 for three offences of making indecent images of children.

Sentencing him Judge Emma Peters said 30 years after his conviction in 1991 he still had an ingrained sexual interest in children.

Jamie Sawyer for Rollings said he had been feeling stressed at the time of the offences due to family illness.
