If you go to an Ipswich park, you may spot young birds of prey learning to hunt and fly.
A Suffolk photographer has captured these stunning photos of kestrels being raised at Landseer Park in Ipswich.
Ipswich-born Phil Orris has pictured five young kestrels who seem to be practicing their flight and hunting skills.
He says that efforts made to keep grass long in the area for wildlife has attracted the birds of prey.
He said: “Landseer Park is wonderful for wildlife, there has been a lot of work that has gone into it by allowing vast areas to be taken over by wildflowers. This has allowed insect species to boom, which has provided more food for birds and so on.
“This also helps other species that live in longer grass such as voles, mice, and even common lizards to thrive, which then provides more food options for birds such as these kestrels!
“It’s a really nice success story of what managing land for our wildlife can achieve.”
The photographs were taken on Sunday, July 23.
