Community leaders have been left dismayed after thousands of pounds worth of damage was caused to a children's play park.
A slide in the play area at the Kesgrave Community Centre has been taped off after it was damaged by vandals.
Kesgrave Town Council believes the incident took place on Sunday.
A large metal rod was reportedly used to smash the slide.
The cost to replace the slide is more than £2,500, according to a spokesperson for the town council.
The spokesman said in a statement on social media: "It is such a shame that a few spoil it for others and do not think of the cost or the inconvenience this causes to those who enjoy the park.
"If anyone has any information as to who is responsible, then you can contact the town council in confidence.
"This act of vandalism has been reported to the police, who are investigating."
