Two Ipswich drug dealers who were involved in the supply of cocaine worth more than £100,000 have been given jail terms totalling seven years.

Police officers followed Ergys Krrashi on June 6 after seeing him leave a house in London Road, Ipswich, the town’s crown court heard.

They followed him to Vernon Street and when they searched him, they found 11 zip seal bags containing cocaine and £120 cash, said Laura Kenyon, prosecuting.

Officers seized his mobile phone and discovered he’d been involved in drug dealing using a postcode delivery system since March this year.

When police searched his room, they found 53 further bags of cocaine and £200 cash.

Officers also searched the room of Eduard Peposhi in the same property, where they found 27 bags of cocaine and £280 cash.

Miss Kenyon said Krrashi had been involved in the supply of cocaine worth £56,000 while Peposhi was involved in the supply of cocaine worth £65,375.

Krrashi, 23, of London Road, Ipswich, and Peposhi, 21, who was living at the same address, both admitted possessing cocaine with intent to supply and being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

Sentencing the men to three years and six months in jail each, Judge Emma Peters said they had performed an essential role in the illegal trade of class A drugs.

She said they would be automatically deported at the end of their sentences.

Juliet Donovan said her client had arrived in the UK illegally in March in a lorry and owed £15,000 which resulted in him being coerced into supplying drugs.

Simon Gladwell, for Krrashi, said his client had run up a £9,000 debt to the people who had brought him to the UK from Albania.

He had initially worked in construction but had then been forced to supply drugs to pay off the debt.
