The south stand ast Ipswich Town's Portman Road could soon be given a revamp, according to new proposals.

Plans submitted to Ipswich Borough Council on Tuesday, July 25 suggest updating the signage on the Alf Ramsey Stand.

Drawings have been uploaded to the council’s planning portal, which were created by Jamie Alston of Hoopers Architects in St Peter’s Street.

The drawings show that, if accepted, brand logos would be installed over the stand.

The drawings have given an example of what this might look like, and show the Umbro logo. Umbro is the sports equipment manufacturer which produces the Town kits.

However, Ipswich Town confirmed that it has not yet been decided which logos will be used.

The message ‘This Is Our Game’ would also be embossed on the left-hand side of the sound.

The council has set an eight-week target date for a decision on these additions, an automatic timeframe which the council gives all applications.

The Blues will play their first game back in the Championship this weekend, with an away game against Sunderland kicking off at 5pm on Sunday.

Since the Blues were taken over by Gamechanger 20 Ltd in 2021, Portman Road has had a series of upgrades to improve the match-going experience.
