Two Suffolk couples have won a national photography competition that will see their entries displayed inside the pods on the London Eye.

Sudbury couple Liam and Latisha Kent and Ipswich fiancés Hannah Lenney and Luke Dickerson were two of 25 winners of the national lastminute.com photography competition.

The competition was launched to find the UK’s best travel photos as part of the company’s 25th anniversary celebrations.

Mr Kent said: “I got an e-mail about the competition based on pictures from memories on holiday and our wedding was abroad. I thought it would be a good picture as it was memorable for me and my wife last year.

“We got married in Lefkada in Greece, near Corfu, which was the location of our first holiday as a couple around ten years ago. It’s quite low-key, but really beautiful there.

“We got married on land with about 30 family and friends. We then had speeches and canapes on the boat that you can see in the picture, with a little cruise around the island.

“We are using the voucher we won towards a hotel for a night away to visit the London Eye on our wedding anniversary, on September 8.”

Hannah Lenney said: “This was our last holiday, and our first time going to Cornwall as we couldn’t go abroad due to the Covid pandemic, and we got engaged. Luke hired a surprise photographer to capture the moment, such a special memory.

“We are both so grateful after a tough couple of years. It is great to have something to look forward to.”

Both couples came in the top 25 from more than 1,000 entries from across the UK.

They each won a £250 voucher from lastminute.com to fund future travels, as well as a ticket to the London Eye to see their images on display.
