A container village in a Suffolk seaside town has opened its first vintage fashion shop.

Beach Street Felixstowe is an increasingly popular venue for food and drink by the coast, with all food outlets serving from quirky upcycled containers.

Now, the directors of Beach Street, Jonny and Charlie Manning, have opened their very own vintage shop.

"It has been way busier than we expected," said Jonny Manning, who is organising the running of Thread & Butter Vintage.

"We've seen a really mixed crowd and had non-stop footfall since we opened."

The vintage store opened its doors to the public on Saturday, August 26.

The idea was created by Jonny's partner Consuela Fontan whose knowledge and passion for vintage clothing has resulted in stock and products that are totally unique to the area.

"We have over 500 items at a time," said Mr Manning.

"But we've had to restock the store twice since opening due to selling so much stock.

"Vintage shopping is such a popular way of shopping now."

The store is operating out of a 20ft upcycled shipping container in the heart of Beach Street.

Mr Manning planned to open a vintage clothing store when they knew that one of the retail units was going to be available.

He added: "We have taken on a couple of staff, who are all really awesome."

The store focuses on offering quality vintage pieces at affordable prices.

"Even I have been surprised by the quality and price of the clothing.

"There's huge demand these days for clothes that are unique, high quality and sustainable.

"Secondhand clothing is the antidote to fast fashion."

The shop is open seven days a week from 11am to 7pm, but hours might differ once the weather gets cooler.
