The owner of a flourishing womenswear store which has become a style hub in Ipswich is celebrating being shortlisted for three national awards.

Mandy Errington, 53, has been running DJV Boutique for the past 10 years.

After starting life in Norwich Road, the store moved to its current premises in Cox Lane in 2018.

Over that time, it has built up a loyal clientele, all of whom are looking for that piece of statement attire which will make them stand out from the crowd.

“DJV stands for daring, jazzy, versatile,” explained Mrs Errington.

“Our clothing tends towards the contemporary, stylish and trendsetting.

“We present an image that is individual and unique. We also provide styling packages to encourage people to find their own individual style.

“Rather than looking through a rail and thinking, ‘That might suit me’, we take out the guesswork.”

Customers have the option of consulting with an in-house stylist, who can then make recommendations for looks which will best complement each individual shopper.

Now, Mrs Errington is celebrating having been shortlisted for three national awards: the Drapers Independent Awards; the Boutique Style Awards; and the Great British Businesswoman Awards, in the category of Consumer Goods Businesswoman of the Year.

“It has been a productive year for us in awards,” said Mrs Errington. In March, she was delighted to be be named self-employed/freelancer of the year 2023 at the Federation of Small Business Awards.

Having navigated her business through an expansion, the pandemic, and the ever-changing face of the high street, Mrs Erringoton is proud that her efforts to meet the needs of her customers in Ipswich have been recognised.

“To get to the final stage is a privilege,” she said.
