If you're looking for a taste of the sea, there are many places in Suffolk that can satisfy that craving. 

Here are five of the top places to enjoy a seafood dinner, according to Tripadvisor. 

1. Ocean Fish Platter

Where: 43 Upper Brook Street, Ipswich IP4 1DU

Ocean Fish Platter specialises in lobster, shrimp, and grilled fish meals as well as Mediterranean food. 

The 'ocean famous fish & chips' dish is deep fried in beef dripping and their own crispy battered recipe. 

Main dishes on the menu range from £11.95 for homemade falafel or £99.95 for a sharing platter that serves four.

2. Ash Smoked Fishes

Where: Crag Path, Aldeburgh IP15 5BT

If you walk along the Aldeburgh coast you will come across this highly-rated hut. 

Here they serve lightly smoked fish which is ready to eat, so it can be enjoyed there on the beach or as a take away tasty treat. 

The fish they serve ranges from Yellowfin Tuna to Eel caught from a local tidal river. 

3. Butley Orford Oysterage

Where: Market Hill, Orford, Woodbridge IP12 2LH

A relaxed restaurant specialising in oysters and other seafood staples. 

The seafood is fresh, caught on the day, and accompanies seasonal and locally sourced ingredients to make dishes for you to enjoy. 

Why not try some fresh Butley Oysters for £12.00 for half a dozen? 

If that's not you're taste then prawns, mussels, and smoked salmon are also on the menu.

4. MarkG

Where: 113a High Street, Lowestoft NR32 1HP

MarkG uses local, rustic, seasonal, and sustainable ingredients to create dishes inspired by British and European influences. 

Their sample menu includes grilled skate wing, whole sea bream, and a smoked cod roe dip. 

Prices start from £4.50 for a Brancaster oyster shot to £25 for a North Sea hake. 

5. Sole Bay Fish Co.

Where: 22E Blackshore, Southwold IP18 6ND

This small hut in the harbour first opened in 2001 and is a fishmonger and a takeaway.

You can get fish & chips fried in beef drippings, oysters, and even a lobster platter. 

Prices range from £6 to £40. 

A second store, The Little Fish & Chip Shop, can be found in Southwold town.

Sole Bay Fish Co. was forced to shut in May due to a devastating fire, but reopened about a month later.
