Ewa the polar bear travelled from Sweden to Suffolk via the Eurotunnel to get to her new home at Jimmy's Farm near Ipswich.

Now, pictures show her smiling and enjoying the enclosure that was purpose-built for her arrival.

TV personality Jimmy Doherty has made his farm in Wherstead a home to rare breeds and animals that need rescuing.

This year the park welcomed four capybara cubs, an animal native to South America.

Now it has given a home to Ewa (pronounced Eva), an 18-year-old polar bear that Mr Doherty rescued from Orsa Predator Park in Sweden which was closing down.

The animals remaining at the site were set to be euthanised.

Ewa's new home will be Europe's largest polar bear reserve and will open to the public on Saturday, October 21.

In the meantime, the polar bear has been settling into her new surroundings.

The new Tundra reserve will welcome a host of new animals alongside Ewa including the largest pack of 13 Arctic wolves in the UK, which have been rehomed from Cumbria Wildlife Park, the resident herd of reindeer and Arctic foxes.
