A jealous 26-year-old Felixstowe man who hit his former partner in the face with her phone and threatened to kill her has been jailed for two years.

The woman woke up the morning after a row during which Jordan Wilson accused his brother of touching her bottom and found him standing over her, Ipswich Crown Court heard.

She had tried to pick up her phone, but he had pushed her face first into the bed and when she rolled over and tried to fight him off, he had hit her in the face with her phone causing bruising, said Simon Gladwell, prosecuting.

He had then grabbed a pillow and put it over her face and when she grabbed it and told him to stop, he told her he was going to kill her if she screamed.

Following the incident, the woman had been physically sick and said she had believed Wilson when he said he would kill her if she screamed.

On another occasion, Wilson had accused the woman of letting a man touch her bottom and had grabbed a pair of shoes and started hitting her in the face with them and slammed a door on her arm.

As a result of the incident the woman suffered two broken fingers, bruising and a black eye.

Wilson had also spat at the woman, when she was pregnant, and poured a can of beer over her after calling her a “slut”, said Mr Gladwell.

Wilson, of Buregate Road, Felixstowe, admitted two offences of assault causing actual bodily harm, assault by beating and an offence of intentional suffocation.

In addition to being jailed, he was banned from contacting the woman for four years.

Nicholas Bleaney, for Wilson, accepted his client’s behaviour had been disgraceful and said he was genuinely remorseful.

He had been in custody for five months and had been diagnosed with a personality disorder.
