A seasonal-pop up supermarket boss has high hopes as he prepares to open a new store in a popular town centre thoroughfare in Ipswich.

Christmas Supermarket is expected to launch in the former Tessuti unit at 29-31 Westgate Street from October 27 or 28 and remain open until January 2.

The national seasonal specialist, which operates from a warehouse in Chelmsford, is responding to social media interest which suggests strong demand in Suffolk for its seasonal shop.

The store - offering shoppers "everything you need for Christmas, at great-value prices" has been secured thanks to a short-term deal between the chain and the landlords who are long-standing clients of property agents Penn Commercial.

Company director Lee Fuller said it was the firm's first foray into Suffolk. The company targeted the best units in the South-East, he added.

"I think it will be a good store with reasonably-priced items," he said.

“We are excited to be opening our new pop-up store in Ipswich. Ipswich is a friendly, bustling town, boasting an eclectic mix of boutiques, and we feel Christmas Supermarket will fit in well.
