An overturned lorry caused severe delays on the A14 outside Ipswich earlier.

Emergency services were called to the overturned lorry in the eastbound carriageway near Copdock at about 12.50pm on Wednesday.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said the lorry overturned near the entry slip road.

A full closure of the eastbound carriageway was briefly put in place, but that has since been lifted.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was called to help rescue the driver from the vehicle and the vehicle was recovered at around 7pm.

No serious injuries have been reported.

There were severe delays in the area as a result of the crash.

It was the second crash of the day on the A14 following an earlier incident between a lorry and a vehicle towing a trailer near the Wherstead junction.
