A car was engulfed in flames on the A14 this afternoon.

Suffolk Police and the Fire and Rescue Service were both at the scene of a vehicle fire on the A14 slip road heading westbound at the Seven Hills exit this afternoon. 

The emergency services were called at around 12.30pm to reports of a car engulfed in flames.

The front bonnet of the car was aflame before the emergency services arrived.

Police and two fire crews remained on the scene until the area had been made safe. 

Traffic was queuing along the A14 heading towards the area of the incident, but has now cleared.
