Part of the A14 was shut near Ipswich due to a medical incident.
Emergency services were called to the westbound carriageway, near junction 52 at Claydon, at about 3.10pm on Tuesday.
Traffic was at a standstill.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said the road has now reopened.
The East of England Ambulance Service has been approached for further information.
