Plans have been submitted to build three new homes using existing barns at a farm near Ipswich, following the demolition of part of the building.
Babergh District Council has received plans for three new homes in Holbrook near Ipswich, using an existing building at Potash Farm.
The proposal is to convert the three timber frame and brick barns to three homes.
To convert the buildings, some of the existing buildings will be demolished, including the attached modern steel framed barn to the south of the group of buildings, and the open timber framed structure to the front of the middle barn.
One of the buildings will be a five-bedroom house, while another will be a two-bedroom and the third will be a three-bedroom.
The application states: "The conversion of the buildings has been designed around the historic subdivision of the three barns so the original forms and layouts remain legible."
External works will also be done, including the creation of a road and path access, with parking available for all homes.
Each will have a garden too, designed specifically to 'make the most of the orientation and the sun path'.
