The new year is a great time to head out and experience something new and in the county, January is packed full of events.

Here are five major events happening in Suffolk in January 2024.

1. Sing-a-long-a Matilda the Musical

When: January 28

Where: Ipswich Regent Theatre, St Helen's Street, Ipswich, IP4 1HE

All of the 'revolting children' in Suffolk are invited to experience the tale of a magic little girl finding her escape. 

Armed with a sharp mind and vivid imagination, Matilda fights to change her story against her parents and villainous headteacher Miss Trunchball. 

Fancy dress is strongly encouraged and audience participation is encouraged. 

2. Legend - The Music of Bob Marley

When: January 20

Where: Spa Pavilion, Undercliff Road W, Felixstowe, IP11 2DX

An evening celebrating the music of Bob Marley. 

A talented cast recreate some timeless hits including 'Could You Be Loved' and 'Three Little Birds'. 

The show is two-hours long and captures the magic of Marley. 

3. New Year Car Meet

When: January 7

Where: Bridge Classic Cars, Pettistree, IP13 OHH

Celebrate the start of 2024 in classic style. 

The Atelier doors will be open in the morning for coffee and bacon baps. 

Those attending can bring along their classic cars and have a look around the workshop to see what's in store for the rest of the year. 

4. Wet Wet Wet and Go West 

When: January 25

Where: Ipswich Regent Theatre, St Helen's Street, Ipswich, IP4 1HE

The two bands are teaming up for a co-headline UK tour including a show in Ipswich.

The 'Best of Both Worlds' tour will see them perform original songs from a treasure trove of hits. 

The bands have over 30 Top 40 UK Singles between them. 

5. Radio GaGa

When: January 26

Where: Theatre Royal, Westgate Street, Bury St Edmunds, IP33 1QR

Shake all over like a jellyfish at this tribute show to the band Queen. 

Be a part of the night at the ultimate two hour long celebration. 

All your favourite hits will be played on the stage including 'We Will Rock You' and 'Bohemian Rhapsody'.
