Proposals to set up a two-bedroom flat above a pharmacy in Ipswich have been approved by planners.
Ipswich Borough Council’s planning and development committee has granted permission to convert the first floor of Barbour Pharmacy, in Bramford Road, into a flat.
The application also includes creating an external staircase to the upstairs of the building so that any future occupant can access their home without going into the pharmacy.
The flat will have a bathroom complete with shower, a combined kitchen, living and dining space and two bedrooms.
The plans do not include any off-road vehicle parking for this development.
A planning and development consultee, Suffolk Highways, commented that the proposal did not appear to meet the requirements in relation to vehicle parking and secure, lit and covered cycle storage.
An apparent insufficient space for two cycles was also pointed out.
The application has been granted following a number of conditions, which include carrying out soft landscaping works and providing space for refuse and recycling bins.
