A family-run escape room in Ipswich has announced a new room to put players to the test.
Escape Ipswich, in Orwell Place, will be welcoming players to try its new room The Renaissance Genius: Da Vinci in 2024.
Owner Sue Crocker believes this is the only Leonardo Da Vinci in the East of England.
Those willing to put their skills to the test will enter Da Vinci's studio as one of his students and race against the clock to become his apprentice.
The Escape Ipswich owner said; “When I first had the idea to open Escape Ipswich, some people thought it was an unusual choice of business.
"But it’s proven to be not only a sound business decision, but an interesting and varied job! My team meets so many people every week.
"A reasonable amount of our customers at Escape Ipswich are visiting the town especially to experience our games rooms, so this news is not only exciting for our business, but it also adds to the footfall in the town centre and Waterfront.”
The business opened in 2017 with three rooms before expanding to six themed rooms in less than a year.
Escape Ipswich's business manager Hannah said: “I’m so excited about this new room. It’s a completely new style of escape room to what we usually offer. We’ve always wanted to upgrade, but due to lockdown our priorities changed.
"That’s why we’re so excited about the launch. We’ve all worked extremely hard to make this a success. We outsourced the build from Dale and Joey at RealityWerx, a two-man company who specialise in prop making and escape room design.
"Blood, sweat and a lot of plaster has gone into this room, so we really hope the public will enjoy it as much as we do!”
