The start of the new year brings about change and more roadworks planned for Ipswich. 

Here are all the roadworks to look out for in the town this month. 

London Road

There will be a southbound lane closure on the A1214 London Road from Monday, January 15, until Tuesday, January 16. 

The closure is in place to allow for hedge cutting. 

Bramford Road

Bramford Road will be closed overnight between Tuesday,  January 2, and Wednesday, January 3, to allow for urgent carriageway patching. 

The closure will start at 7pm and end at 5am, and the road will be closed from River Hill to Weaver Close. 

Norwich Road

Two-way signals for traffic control will be in place between Dales Road to Cromer Road from Wednesday, January 10, and Thursday, January 11. 

It is to allow for the installation of new traffic signs. 

Valley Road

There will be two-way signals on Valley Road from Monday, January 8, until Friday, January 19. 

The traffic control is in place for the building of new homes and garages. 

High Street

Cadent has issued a road closure from Monday, January 8, until Friday, January 12. 

The road will be closed all the time and a diversion is in place through Crown Street, St Matthews Street and Fonnereau Road. 

St Matthews Street

There will be a lane closure so a bus shelter can be installed. 

It is in place from 2pm on Sunday, January 21, until 6am on Tuesday, January 23. 

Virgin Media works will also close St Matthews Street for one night on January 23. 

Gleneagles Drive

The road will be closed between Monday, January 22, and Friday, January 26, for resurfacing works by Suffolk County Council. 

A diversion route will be in place while repairs are carried out.
