Two major roads through Suffolk towns could be hit by heavy traffic as the county council announces emergency closures. 

Road users could face major disruption in Ipswich and Newmarket tomorrow, Tuesday, January 16, as Suffolk Highways is set to close routes throughout the towns during the day. 

The B1067 Bramford Road in Ipswich will be closed between 10am and 3pm while Highways teams work to clear overgrown vegetation. 

The road will be closed in both directions from the centre of Bramfield village to the Adair Road turning in Ipswich while the work is completed.

There will be a diversion in place, which will take drivers along the B1067, A1214, A1017, B1113, B1067, and the same in the opposite direction.

Access for businesses will be via the Ipswich end of the closure.

The B1103 The Avenue in Newmarket will also be closed from High Street to Station Approach between 10am and 3pm as the Highways teams repair potholes in the area. 

While the road is closed a diversion will be in place and will take drivers along the B1063, A1304 and the same vice versa. 

Drivers heading to the station during this time are asked to plan accordingly as the closures could cause some delays.
