A football club based in Ipswich has asked to convert two 20 ft containers into new changing rooms for the club, as well as a kitchen.

Ipswich Borough Council North East committee will discuss a revised proposal from Coplestonians Football Club to convert two existing container at its site.

In January last year, the club asked for £4,514.58 from the committee and £1,000 of locality budget funding to purchase and install a 40ft shipping container at Copleston High School, which would be converted into two changing rooms, a kitchen and an area for refreshments and seating.

Due to circumstances beyond their control however, they have been unable to facilitate the installation of a new container.

Therefore, they have revised the project to refurbish the two existing containers.

Due to the growth of club activities, the club would like to provide additional services on matchdays, including serving refreshments through a hatch.

The North East Area Committee will discuss the proposal at a meeting next week, with the recommendation being to approve the revised plans.
