Three men have been charged with a series of drug-related offences in Ipswich after police raided a home in the town. 

Suffolk police said the trio have been charged in connection with the supply of class A and class B drugs. 

Officers arrested two men after a warrant was secured for an address in Benezet Street in Ipswich on Tuesday, January 9.

Police searched the property and suspected class A and class B drugs, along with more than £800 in cash, were found inside.

Following the search, a 19-year-old man and a 33-year-old man were arrested at the property on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

They were questioned at Martlesham police investigation centre and subsequently charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine and heroin.

Nuno Gomes, 19, and Jorge Silva, 33, both of Benezet Street, appeared at Suffolk Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, January 11.

Gomes was remanded in custody and Silva was conditionally bailed, and both are set to appear at Suffolk Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, February 8.

Following these charges, a third man, Hugo Paiva, 24 and of Rope Walk in Ipswich, was charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine and heroin in connection with the incident.

He is due to appear before Suffolk Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 12.
