Plans to transform the town's Edinburgh Woollen Mill into two new flats have just been approved.

The shop closed its doors in November 2020 and has stood empty ever since.

Now, the site has been given permission for the upper floors of the building to be converted into two new homes.

The building is Grade II listed, with aspects of the building dating back to the 17th century.

Both flats are set to have one bedroom each, as well as a separate kitchen and living area. One flat will be located solely on the first floor, while the bedroom for the second flat will be located on the second floor.

The new occupants will access their homes via the building’s existing doorway in Dial Lane. No parking spaces will be provided.

Ipswich Borough Council gave permission for the proposal to go ahead on February.
