A much-loved and multi-award winning Indian restaurant has added another accolade to it's growing collection. 

Chequers Indian Lounge, located in Great Blakenham, offers a glimpse into Indian cuisine and culture. 

In January it was revealed the restaurant was shortlisted for the Nation's Curry Awards 2024.

It was the second year of the awards and the ceremony was held on Monday, February 12 in Manchester. 

Chequers Indian Lounge received a Highly Commended certificate in the Outstanding Restaurant of the Year category. 

Nasir Jilani, owner of the restaurant, said: "Being acknowledged at the Nation's Curry Awards is truly an honour.

"Despite a relatively brief period, we've managed to establish a remarkable reputation through diligent efforts and an unwavering commitment to excellence."

The Nation's Curry Awards celebrate the UK's diverse culture and encourages continued growth in the industry. 

The winning restaurants were chosen for their high quality, innovation and consistency in offering a memorable dining experience. 

A spokesperson for the awards said: "It was an unforgettable night, filled with incredible food, vibrant energy, and passionate conversations."
