A footpath has been cordoned off following a roof fire which is suspected to contain asbestos. 

Emergency services were called to the blaze in Ferry Road in Felixstowe at about 8.15am on Saturday. 

A spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said they were called to a roof fire at a single-storey building. 

The Environment Agency has been called due to the building containing suspected asbestos.

It is understood a cordon has been put in place on a footway.

Seven fire crews were called to the scene.
