A six-year-old is getting used to his new hairdo after lopping off his locks to help make wigs for children.
Wilf Holmes's hair had grown to around 12 inches in length before he decided to have it cut in aid of the Little Princess Trust.
The Holbook six-year-old also opened a Just Giving page for the charity, which has now got over £1,400.
Each wig costs around £520 to make, which mean Wilf's efforts would help make nearly three new wigs for the charity.
The Little Princess Trust provides free real hair wigs to kids and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.
"Hopefully I can get to £2,000," said Wilf.
Wilf has had long hair for most of his life, with an odd trim every so often.
He added: "It feels really strange to have short hair! I’ve wanted to cut it for a while so I thought I could do it for charity."
Along with providing wigs, The Little Princess Trust also funds childhood cancer research with the aim of finding kinder and more effective treatments.
His parents Luke and Emma shared their pride.
Mr Holmes said: “I loved Wilf’s long hair but he wanted to cut it and so we thought we could raise some money for charity at the same time. We discovered the Little Princess Trust, which is such a great cause.”
Mrs Holmes added: “Wilf has thrown everything into raising as much money as he can. We’re really proud of him.”
Last month, 10-year-old Layton Barry also braved the chop to help Little Princess Trust.
He said: "I wanted to cut my hair to make an unwell child's day."
