A teenager has been arrested after they were found in possession of two kitchen knives in Ipswich town centre. 

Officers were on patrol in Buttermarket on Saturday when they were made aware of an incident involving a group of youths. 

According to Ipswich police, one of the youths was suspected of carrying a knife.

The suspect was located and, following a chase through the town, arrested. 

A spokesman for police said an 18-year-old man from Southend was charged with possession of a bladed article after he was found in possession of two kitchen knives.
