A man from Ipswich has been banned from the roads and ordered to pay more than £1,000 for failing to tell police the identity of a driver in Lincolnshire.
Vasile Avram, 26 and of Spring Road in the Suffolk town, appeared in the dock at Lincoln Magistrates' Court in January.
He had been questioned by police officers at Nettleham police headquarters in October last year, but failed to give information relating to the identity of a driver of being investigated for an alleged offence, thought to be a Skoda.
Avram was ordered to pay a fine of £660.
He was also required to pay a victim surcharge of £264 and court costs of £110, an amount totalling £1,034.
Avram was also disqualified from driving for six months and six points were added to his driving licence.
The case was dealt with through the single justice procedure, whereby a single magistrate supported by a legal adviser can deal with more minor summary offences that are not heard before a crown court.
