A primary school in Ipswich has been rated Good for the first time in its history by education watchdog Ofsted.

Cliff Lane Primary School, situated in the east of Ipswich, is celebrating following its Good judgement.

This is the first time it has been rated Good, with previous inspections either being rated as satisfactory or requires improvement. 

In all five categories, the school was rated as Good. 

The report notes that pupils at the school are "happy" and have "good relationships with adults".

It also noted that pupils "behave well in lessons and around the school" and they are "keen to learn."

It goes on to state that the school has "developed at pace" and they have developed a curriculum which is "ambitious, broad and well supported by additional opportunities."

Carrie Broom, headteacher at Cliff Lane, said: "This really is a fantastic achievement.

"The children at Cliff Lane amaze me every day.

"I am incredibly proud of each and every one of them and feel privileged to be leading this amazing school.

"The staff at Cliff Lane are truly magical too and the school would not be what it is without them.
