CCTV has captured the moment an iPhone was stolen from a store in Ipswich.

The footage of the iPhone 14 Pro Max being taken from A Plus Mobile, an electronics store in Norwich Road, was recorded on Thursday.

The phone would have cost £1,000, leading the store owner Khalid Mahmoud to say "it was a huge loss for us".

Suffolk police has been contacted over the matter, but no arrests have been made as of yet.

Mr Mahmoud said that the thief asked for a speaker which was in a locked case.

While Mr Mahmoud bent down to pick up the speaker, the man reached over and picked up an iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Once the speaker was retrieved by Mr Mahmoud, the man allegedly claimed he was £2 short and said he would return to the store later.

The store owner realised 20 to 25 minutes later that the box was still in the cabinet but the phone that was meant to be placed above the box was missing.
