The opening of a new McDonald's branch outside Ipswich is set to open early this summer.

Signs for the fast food chain's iconic golden arches appeared on their restaurant in Martlesham at the start of April.

It has now been revealed the branch at Martlesham Heath Retail Park is set to open in June, with the first jobs being advertised.

McDonald's is looking to hire for a range of roles, including customer care, team member and overnight staff.

The chain applied for a 24-hour licence in February, despite a number of concerns being presented to East Suffolk Council.

In response to the concerns, McDonald's has agreed to improve CCTV, as well as a number of other conditions.

Inside the branch, there will be room for 150 covers, a service counter, a kitchen, bathrooms, crew room and office.

The new store will open inside the former Evans Cycles, which shut in May 2023.

It will be the second McDonald's to open in the Ipswich area this year, following the unveiling of a branch at Copdock junction in January.
