A woman in her 90s was targeted in a prescription medicine phone scam.
The NHS Suffolk and North Essex Integrated Care Board has issued a warning for people to be on alert to cold callers and scammers following the incident.
According to the authority, a woman in her 90s was called by a man who claimed to be from her local pharmacy.
The man told her that she had a repeat prescription due and that she needed to pay for it to be delivered by giving her bank details to him.
The woman refused to hand over any of her financial information.
Following the call, she got in contact with her pharmacy who confirmed they would never call a patient asking for bank details.
It comes amid a number of warnings of scammers and rogue traders from Suffolk Trading Standards in recent months.
A homeowner was called by a person claiming to be from Suffolk County Council in February, and gave a Gmail email address to be contacted on.
