Get ready to make waves, as there is not long to wait before a seafront attraction opens again in Gorleston.

Both locals and visitors will be able to cool down at the Gorleston Splashpad every day during the half-term break, from Saturday, May 25 to Sunday, June 2.

The wet play area, which is free to use, will then open during weekends from June 8 to July 14.

For the summer holidays, from July 20 to September 1, it will open seven days a week.

The opening hours are 10am to 4pm.

A spokesperson for the borough council said the opening was weather dependent.

The splashpad boasts fountain sprays, jet streams and buckets of tipping water, all set within an nautical-themed play area featuring a sailing boat, fish, seaweed, starfish and a crab.

There are also colourful LED lights, plus benches for parents to sit and enjoy watching their children get drenched.

The splashpad can accommodate 76 children who must be supervised by an adult as the attraction is not staffed.
