As summer approaches with sunnier weather then make the most of the warmer temperatures by dining outside. 

The Anchor in Walberswick was recently named on of the top spots for alfresco dining across the UK by the Good Food Guide.

But the pub is not the only place to enjoy good food while basking in the sun - here are seven more of the best Suffolk restaurants for alfresco dining. 

1. Big Bro Bao

Where: Unit 18, Beach Street, Micklegate Road, Felixstowe IP11 2GN

Opening hours: 12.30pm until 10pm (7pm on Sundays)

The Pan-Asian eatery serving up bao buns, chicken wings and cocktails has been a hit with visitors to Felixstowe since opening at the start of the year.

The brother duo behind Big Bro Bao are also planning on opening a donut and dessert shop in June.

2. Little Anatolia

Opening hours: 5pm until 11:30pm (10pm on Sundays)

Located in the same site as Starburger, the Mediterranean restaurant is run by the same team behind Anatolia Bar and Grill.

Little Anatolia serves a range of dishes including pasta, grills and seafood.

3. The Lighthouse

Where: 77 High Street, Aldeburgh IP15 5AU

Opening hours: Lunch 12pm until 3pm, dinner 6pm until 9.30pm

The Lighthouse in Aldeburgh has a courtyard for alfresco dinning in the summer months offering dishes made with local ingredients. 

To celebrate its 25th anniversary the restaurant launched its own Lighthouse 77 gin made up of thirteen botanics.

4. Damson & Wilde

Opening hours: Kitchen is open from 12pm until 9pm (8pm on Sunday)

Damson & Wilde was taken over by Gusto Pronto in November of last year, a pub group based in and around Bury St Edmunds.

The restaurants motto is "Drink. Graze. Dine" offering a range of cocktails, nibbles and meals to enjoy in the summer sun.

5. Tuddenham Mill

Where: High Street, Tuddenham, Newmarket IP28 6SQ

Opening hours: 10am until 9pm

Tuddenham Mill has a unique way to dine alfresco with the addition of a tipi by the stream.

Brunch including a sausage toastie and a haggis pie is served until 12pm with late menu available after that until 9pm.

6. 16 Steakhouse

Opening hours: 12pm until 9pm (5pm until 9pm on Wednesday and 9am until 7pm on Sunday)

The steakhouse at Venue 16 has a heated outdoor terrace enclosed in marquees to enjoy an alfresco meal throughout the year. 

Although it is closed on Monday and Tuesday, the restaurant offers afternoon tea available on Thursday through to Sunday.

7. Ramsholt Arms

Opening hours: 12pm until 3pm (plus 5pm until 8pm on Wednesday through Friday, 12pm until 6pm on Sunday)

Located on the banks of the River Deben, the Ramsholt Arms faces south on the river meaning sunsets can be viewed from the outside seating area. 

During the summer months the restaurant serves fresh locally caught seafood, sharing platters and American barbecue at weekends.
