A woman from Ipswich was fined more than £450 for smoking a cigarette at a train station in Leeds.
Sarah Taylor, of Pauline Street, appeared before Doncaster Justice Centre North on April 26.
The 33-year-old was seen smoking a cigarette on platform 12 of Leeds railway station on October 27 last year.
The court heard that Taylor was approached and told that the incident would be reported.
A fixed penalty letter was issued to Taylor. The court heard that a telephone call was received and a payment date was agreed. However, no payment was made.
A second call was made, and another date was arranged. Again, no payment was received.
This happened a third time.
The case was brought before Doncaster Justice Centre North, and Taylor was fined £220.
She was also ordered to pay court costs of £150, and a surcharge which goes towards victim services of £88.
This brings the total the 33-year-old was ordered to pay to £458.
The case was dealt with through the single justice procedure, which deals with more minor offences not brought before a crown court.
