All partner kitchens have been signed up to trade inside a new food hall in Ipswich as work continues on the historic building.

Builders are working hard to get the Tower Street Food Hall in Trafalgar House - which was previously occupied by Yates - open as soon as possible.

Scaffolding has been removed from the outside of the building, with the outside of the venue being fully painted.

Signage has also gone up on the building's exterior.

Ipswich Borough Council has also approved plans for a bespoke glass door to be fitted to the main entrance, instead of the current wooden one.

The plans also mean developers can install new shutters on the site.

In an update provided by the food hall owner Sandeep Singh, all partner kitchens have now been signed up to trade in the venue when it opens.

The first to be revealed was pan-Asian restaurant Big Bro Bao, which is also in Felixstowe's Beach Street venue.

London Calling was announced shortly after, serving traditional London cuisine such as pie and mash and jellied eels.

Other traders to open in the food hall are yet to be announced.

Mr Singh said: "We have an excellent lineup of Partner Kitchens. Ipswichians will be spoilt for choice!"

The team behind the food hall has now started the process of hiring staff to work in the venue, with 75 jobs to be created.

Following the announcement that the former Yates was going to be converted into a food hall, Mr Singh said that he thinks it will "change the landscape of the town centre".

He said: "With this sort of thing, the amount of money that we are putting in to it, we don't want anything to go wrong with it.

"It's a beautiful building, it ticked all the right boxes for us.

"A food hall is a destination."
