A data protection company with offices in Ipswich is set to support a charity for victims of sexual abuse.

The DPO Centre has announced its participation in the Ipswich Waterfront's annual Dragon Boat Race, pledging to assist Brave Futures, a charity offering specialist support to children and young people in Suffolk and Norfolk.

The event, now in its sixth year, is scheduled for Saturday, June 7 and will feature around 40 businesses and local organisations.

The DPO Centre will compete with two teams, Blazing Paddles and Privacy Pirates, with all efforts going towards raising funds for the charity.

The charity's services offer a safe space for affected children and young people to regain confidence and develop coping strategies.

A spokesman for the company said: "Every stroke we paddle, and every pound we raise will help Brave Futures continue delivering life-changing therapy and support for survivors of sexual abuse."

The company has encouraged the public to support their cause by donating through their JustGiving page.
