A much-loved event is set to return to an Ipswich park next month with plenty of colour and fun.

The Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals Charity Colour Run is to return to Christchurch Park on Saturday, September 6.

The family-friendly event gives participants the chance to throw their own pot of coloured powder into the air for others to run under.

There will be 1km, 2.5km or 5km routes available and a free white t-shirt will be given to participants for them to use as the canvas.

Colour Bandits will be spread across the course to cover participants in brightly coloured powder at various intervals and those who cross the finish line will be given a medal and snacks.

Last year, the event attracted around 450 people who took part in the event, which raised £22,000 for the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT).

As a result of this event going ahead, the Christchurch Park Parkrun has been cancelled for the day, but will return the following week.
